The Neurodivergent Nexus is a neurodiversity support platform that provides tools, resources, and community for neurodivergent individuals, caregivers, and professionals. Our SMS messaging program sends text messages to users who explicitly opt in through our platform.
Types of messages you may receive:
- One-time verification codes for account sign-in (2FA) - Account security alerts - Medication, appointment, and task reminders (if enabled in settings) - Urgent safety notifications (if enabled in settings)
Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your usage and account settings. Verification codes are sent once per sign-in attempt. Optional reminders and alerts depend on your configured preferences.
how_to_regHow Users Opt In
Users opt in to SMS messaging through an explicit, unchecked-by-default consent checkbox on our sign-in page. The "Send code" button is disabled until the user checks the consent checkbox.
Step 1 — Default state (checkbox unchecked, button disabled):
When a user first loads the sign-in page, the SMS consent checkbox is unchecked by default and the “Send code” button is disabled. The user cannot proceed without actively checking the box.
I consent to receive SMS/text messages from The Neurodivergent Nexus (operated by Next Steps to Thrive, LLC) at the phone number provided. Messages include: one-time verification codes, account security alerts, and optional reminders or notifications based on my account settings. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to opt out at any time. Reply HELP or INFO for help. Reply YES, START, SUBSCRIBE, JOIN, or OPTIN to opt in. Reply BEACON to start a Beacon text chat. Consent is not required to use the platform. View our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.

Step 2 — After user checks consent (button enabled):
Only after the user manually checksthe consent checkbox does the “Send code” button become active. This is an explicit, affirmative opt-in action.

A second opt-in for ongoing SMS notifications (reminders, alerts) is available on the user's profile page with identical consent language. This opt-in is separate and independent from the sign-in verification opt-in.

Users can opt out of SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:
- Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message from us - Go to Settings → Notifications → SMS Preferences → Revoke SMS Consent - Uncheck the SMS opt-in on their profile page
After opting out, the user will receive one final confirmation message. No further messages will be sent unless the user re-consents.

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your text messaging plan. The Neurodivergent Nexus does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may charge standard messaging fees.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SMS service is available on all major US carriers.
